New Members Elected
At the Annual General Meeting of the Racquetball Association of Ireland Pat Keane from the Touraneena, Co Waterford was elected President of the Association. Former President, Gary Lynch takes over as General Secretary while the new Treasurer is Eleanor Hickey also from the Touraneena club.
Huczek & Guidinas Take Titles
Americans Jack Huczek and Cheryl Gudinas were crowned World Champions at the 12th IRF World Championships in Korea. Huczek who toured Ireland with the US Junior Team in 1998 retained the singles title he won in 2002 while Gudinas won her 3rd singles title. Full results Worlds 2004 Draws
RAI Annual General Meeting
The AGM of the Racquetball Association of Ireland will be held in Tullamore (venue to be decided) on Sunday 22nd August. Motions and Nominations for positions on the Executive must be sent to Helen Shanahan by Wednesday 4th August. All clubs are requested to attend this important meeting.

Worlds 2004:Website launched
The Local Organising Committee for the 2004 World Championships has now launched an official website for the upcoming Worlds in Anyang, Korea from July 30-August 8. 2004 World Championships . There is also extensive information on the Championships at the International Racquetball Federations website. IRF.
Double Win for Brian
Brian Byrne of Arklow won both the Mens Novice Singles and the Mens D Singles at the final tournament of the season in Kilkenny. Noel O`Callaghan completed a fine season when he took the Mens Open Singles and Susan Neary confirmed her position as the Irish number 1 by winning the Womens Open Singles
National Coaching and Development Programme
"Good coaching makes a difference" The National Coaching Development Programme (NCDP) is a partnership between the National Governing Bodies of sport (NGBs) and the National Coaching and Training Centre(NCTC). The Racquetball Association of Ireland is committed to the programme and will hold Introductory Coaching Courses in the coming months. Any Club wish to avail of a course should apply here. The first course will be held in Castlebar on Sat 22nd May. Click on the link for more info on the NCDP

20th Irish Open
Results from the Irish Open at Arklow, Mens Open Singles was won by Noel O`Callaghan(Kilkenny)who defeated Michael Van Der Holst (Holland) 3-0, Womens Open Singles, Salona Taragon (USA) defeated Susan Neary (Arklow) 2-0. Other winners were Larry Byrne (Arklow), Mens B/C Singles and Mike Haverty (Castlebar), Mens Novice/D Singles.
O`Callaghan is Champion
Kilkenny`s Noel O`Callaghan won his 14th successive All Ireland Open Singles Championship title defeating Jimmy Gannon(Arklow) in the final at Moylagh, Co Meath. Susan Neary (Arklow) is the new Womens Champion while her brother Adam won the Mens B Singles. Maura O`Doherty(Templederry) won the Womens B Singles.
